About T Minus

About T-Minus

T-Minus is the game my team and I developed at my first Global Game Jam in 2015. I worked with Andrew McIlhany, Jacob Kanka, Brian Eschenbrenner and Jon Fink.

The game is a puzzle-adventure game that involves picking up and using items around a space ship in order to fix it before it crashes into the sun. The theme was "What do we do now?" and we designed the game to be a race against time that involves exploring the environment and interacting with objects to figure out what needs to be done. I was the lead programmer and I helped develop all the systems of the game and we managed to create the entire game-play experience from start to finish in a mere 48 hours.

The judges honored us as the most complete game-play experience to come from the DePaul sector of the game jam.

This was an intense experience where I was forced to learn my tools quickly to prototype a game and polish it as much as possible with a very short deadline. On top of that, I took a leadership role on my team and made sure that everyone knew their part to play while also helping each member through various design and coding issues. This experience boosted my design, coding, and leadership skills and my efforts show as you can see in the video on the previous page (see View the Game). This game shows my design and coding proficiency.
