Smash N' Grabbers

This Capstone game from DePaul University. I am currently polishing the experience in hopes to make it worthy of a console release. See gameplay video to the left and check out my team's social media for updates on the game: Twitter , Facebook

My analysis of Smash N' Grabbers:

About Smash N' Grabbers

I started this game as my Capstone Project, the culmination of my learning, for DePaul University. On my team, Retro Muffins, I am the lead programmer, working with another programmer (Andrew McIlhany), two game designers (Kevin Mester and Aaron Huang), and two artists (Cassie Chan and Heather Layne).

After multiple brainstorming sessions, my team and I fell in love with the idea of a 4 player game that tries to support both competitive and cooperative play in a hectic party style heist game.

I created most of the code in this game and what I didn't create, I modified, tweaked and debugged. My team and I worked throughout two school trimesters to make this game a polished experience. I furthered my team working skills as well as debugging and implementing another programmer's code. I also became familiar with project management software as a means of version control and working simultaneously on a project.

Throughout this experience, there was also a focus on rapid playtesting and iteration. We quickly identified what worked and what didn't for our game, ironing out bugs we found along the way.

This game showcases my ability to work on a larger scale project and refining it to a polished gameplay experience.
